This was the second time we've used S&S Floor Surfacing to refinish our hardwood floors. As before, they did a great job and were easy to work with. We especially appreciated the care, expertise, experience and professionalism that they bring to the table, as exemplified in Sean's work each of the five days he was at our home.
S & S Flooring again did a great job with re-sanding and re-coating our old oak hardwood floors. They were the original installers 25+ years ago and also the ones who did the same re-sand and re-coat 12 years ago. Yes, we should’ve done this sooner but we’re lazy. They are an excellent company, easy to schedule, pretty efficient and on time. Dave, our main point of contact, was an outstanding individual who is very caring and dependable. Joe was the one who actually did the work and the floor looks brand new! They accommodated our schedule, started on time Wednesday and ended exactly as predicted on Saturday. We had S&S refinish our floors and add hardwood floors to 3 rooms that were carpeted. From the estimate to the clean up we were impressed with all their staff. The floors are beautiful, the project started and finished on time and we especially appreciated Charlie and Sean’s attention to detail and woodworking skills. We would recommend them to anyone!
The team at S & S Floor Surfacing did an excellent job from start to finish. I received several bids for the job (installing new hardwood floors throughout my home) but was most impressed by Jim during his initial estimate meeting. He was very knowledgeable and provided great insight. The bid received was right in line with all others. The installation went great. They took their time to ensure a quality job and were very communicative during the process. The final product turned out better than I even expected. I will definitely use S & S again for future flooring needs.
I have used S & S Floor Surfacing 4 times over the last 15 years as a property manager and homeowner. I keep returning because the company is well organized and they utilize experienced craftsman. If you’re getting new wood floors, refinishing and/or repairing older wood floors, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better company to meet your needs.

They put the flooring in our house when it was built. Went back there to get pricing/ideas for adding some additional wooden flooring. They searched for the same flooring we had, but it isn’t made anymore and no one had old stock. We finally decided to get something in the closest match to our old floor. Since it was a different room it actually made a nice break and it looks fantastic. The install from Roger was top notch and took less than 3 days, which included tearing out the old carpeting and hauling it away. Very please with the work and experience and my wife is already eyeing doing out guest bedroom with the same flooring. Great people to work with and they are very skilled in what they do.

Great hardwood flooring company..
S&S did a beautiful job with our floors. Most recently we hired them to put flooring down in a sunroom with out of level surfaces and an extremely complicated shape, and they worked around all of those "old house" challenges well. They're seasoned pros who are polite and do quality work quickly, with very reasonable prices.
I have a house that is over 100 years with three stories of hardwood floors. Over the years I have had them refinished. I tried another company at first but soon was directed to S&S. From then on, I wouldn't consider using anyone else. Their work is meticulous, with attention to detail. They never make swirl marks or cause any flaws. The finish work is perfect.
Got an old fashioned wood floor fantastic highly recommended didn't like the the two days outside the house but went to Blackhawk spend a lot of money in those two days the floor did not feel cheap did not have cracks and not have gapps it made the house feel more solid and it's going to last a lifetime hats off to the people at S&S flooring fantastic job
These guys did a fantastic job! I had about 900 square feet done with reclaimed lumber and I couldn't be happier. In less than 3 days they had the old carpet ripped up, molding pulled up and the new flooring down. With the reclaimed lumber there was a collage of different types of wood that they had to randomly sort out among the different rooms. It came out really nice. Joe was very respectful of my property and made an effort to put stuff in my garage so that I could continue to pull my car in. I don't plan on moving ever again but if I did I wouldn't hesitate to call S&S again.
S&S lived up to their excellent reputation. Everyone was easy to work with and good humored. The floors are gorgeous! Their pricing is right on. Competitive with other companies. (I know, I got four bids).
This is the 4th time we've used S&S re-finishing and install new hardwood flooring. They are my go to flooring folks. They do a great job and have always give me fair pricing.

My parents used S&S over a decade ago for their floor refinish so my partner and I contacted them right away for our floor refinish in our new home. From start to finish, the S&S team was awesome. From Linda arranging everything, to Mike helping us choose our finishes, to the other Mike that actually did all of the work - we loved interacting with everyone. They talked us through every step of the process and gave us good advice. Our floors are beautiful!
We had them refinish our current floor as the previous owner painted it. They did an excellent work from prepping to sanding, applying final coats and cleaning. would highly recommend the business.
1880 home floor project- After conversation with S&S, we settled on tear out of a larger part of the flooring [someone had top nailed the floor with thousands of nails], weaving in, in other spots, patching to accommodate new HVAC vents. The install was excellent, they took time to shim and level a very uneven old floor, matched and patched to make the floor look consistent with the old. All in all, the install, finish, communication, and final product were excellent. Highly, highly recommend!
We just had our large bedroom and walk in closet changed from carpet to oak floors. This is the third time we've had S&S do work for us. It's always top notch, timely, and great clean up. The floors are gorgeous.
